Organize and Declutter Your Space for Productivity

One of the most important things you can do for your overall well-being and happiness is to find what you’re looking for when you need it. So organizing and decluttering your space is crucial for your time and life. Getting organized will help you keep track of all the little things, making your life easier in the long run. You’ll be able to find what you’re looking for more easily and get things done more quickly too.

Tips on how to organize and declutter your space.


When it comes to organizing and decluttering your space, you can do a few things to help you get there. Let’s explore how.

Get to Know Your Organizing Habits – The first step to organizing is to get to know your habits. Why do you feel so overwhelmed by the idea of getting organized? What are you doing now to create a mess in your space? Getting to know your habits will help you come up with a plan to help you get organized. The hair & makeup room below was once also my office. When I had clients, I would block off the office area. Hair and make-up were done in the kitchen because the space wasn’t big enough for both. I moved the office portion to a spare bedroom I used for several purposes, from sleeping to video production. Now that the spare bedroom had another purpose, I got my result, a dedicated space for my clients to enjoy.


Redraw the Box – The Box thinks things must be a certain way. For me, it was thinking that I already had too much going on in my spare bedroom. What? Says who? With a little creative furniture placement, that bedroom has two separate office spaces (where I run my business), a bed, and a tv (where I relax watching Netflix). I found I was underutilizing the closet space and the spaced underneath the furniture. Now, it does it all.


Look to the Future – What do you want to do in the future but don’t have time for now? If you start organizing and decluttering your space, you’ll be able to free up some of your time to work towards those goals. If you want to go on vacation, you’ll be able to save up for it. If you want to get a promotion at work, you’ll be better equipped to handle it. These things can happen when you get your space in order because you’ll save time and your head will be clear.

Solve the dilemma – Now that I solved my studio dilemma, I can focus on photographing my clients. I had to clean up the office area in the old space and block it off. I had to set up the makeup area in the kitchen, then take it down after the shoot. The entire rearrangement of spaces has simplified my life and created an awesome space for my clients.
